Thanks to all who helped make Garden Party a success

by Dan Hlad

Cleveland-On behalf of the Cleveland Lesbian-Gay Center staff and board, we wanted to thank all of the people who made our July 20

Garden

Party

fundraiser a success again this year.

Thanks to all of our sponsors, American Express, the Gay People's Chronicle, Wesley, Mills, & Co., Real Estate Mortgage, AirTouch Cellular, and The Gay '90s; donors, advertisers, gifted volunteers, and participants (who spent all

istration for the new session, which begins on September 9.

This group has received excellent evaluations from past members, and due to its popularity, we anticipate the limited reg-

that money). Also, a big huge thanks to the committee members who gave up their lives over several months and pulled off a great event with little complaint or headache for the staff!

We were able to raise over $27,000 for the Center and we could have never done it without the help of everyone listed above. The Living Room's popular "HIV & Me" nine-week support group for the person just beginning their journey through HIV diagnosis, is currently accepting reg-

istration to fill up fast. Call the Living Room today for more information and registration, 216-522-1998.

Other groups are in the works at the Center as well. Look for the return of the Center's women's group, the "Out of the Dark" spirituality group, and Man

2 Man. In addition, the Living Room is also planning on starting a group for couples. If you have interest in the group or insights as to its contents, please call the Living Room.

Don't forget the Cleveland AIDS Walk is just around the corner, on September 29. Our goal this year is to get more team participation. If your team would like to register to walk, please contact the Center and we'll set you up with all the information you need. Convince your group or business to walk as a team at this year's AIDS Walk or join the Center's team. Call us at 216522-1999.
